| Welcome to Primary! |
Our Facilities
We believe that a "home-like" setting is essential for our residential
program. All cooking and chores around the house are done by residents.
This helps us to hold our treatment costs to a minimum, but most importantly,
it begins the process of practicing care, responsibility, and accountability
for self and others. Each resident shares sleeping rooms with 1-2 other residents. There are 4 beds for social detox, 13 beds for
residential rehab, and 8 beds in the halfway house. Both houses are located in the Midtown area.
Social Setting Detox Program
Detox Program runs from 10 days to
two weeks. During this period, the primary focus is on assessment and stabilization of physical and mental
conditions. The woman participates in groups, classes, and meetings that help her to start developing an understanding
of addiction and mental health issues.
ResidentialProgram
The residential rehabilitation program accepts women
who have completed the detox program. The rehabilitation program is a 3-level program, with women moving through
each level based on the completion of assignments, attendance, participation in groups and classes, and a demonstrated willingness
to change. Each woman works with her specific issues and begins to learn "tools of recovery" that support her
new way of life in which she is able to address her alcohol, drug, and/or mental health disorders. The rehabilitation
program lasts from three to six months, based on the woman's individual needs. This program includes individual,
group, and family therapy; assertiveness, relationship, abuse, and woman's issues classes; 12 Step, Family of Origin, Communications,
and Spirituality classes, mental health classes as well as lectures about recovery, boundaries, wellness, and effective
life skills. Our program utilizes the evidence based practices: Hazelden Co-occuring Disorders Program which combines
MET, CBT, and TSF, Living In Balance and Reality Therapy/Choice Therapy.

Extended Halfway House Program
The Extended Halfway House Program offers the opportunity for continuing recovery support
as they prepare for their transition out of the treatment setting. Our focus is on relapse prevention supported by practicing
healthier recovery and life skills. The halfway house accepts women who have completed the residential program.
Women in the halfway house program are expected to work or go to school, secure employment, and save money in order to
work toward self-sufficiency. Recovery support is delivered through individual and group counseling, along with education, case
management, and referrals to community resources. We offer courses in basic computer skills, job readiness and retention
skills. We also address life skills and relapse prevention. In addition, some clients may be eligible for
housing assistance programs when resources are available. After discharge from the halfway house, usually
three to six months, the client is encouraged to continue attending Aftercare for one to two years.
